Gwanghwamun D Tower hot pot rice restaurant, 'Fuwafuwa'

I go there quite often, haha.

 

Already the fourth restaurant inside the building.

 

 

 

Here, the always charming character has finally caught my eye, and today is the day I'm going to check it out. 🫡

#Restaurant

 

 

The cute cat character combined with a clean Japanese-style interior

 

 

The large windows let in plenty of natural light, so when I went for lunch, I noticed how well-lit it was inside.

 

Unlike other restaurants in D Tower, this aspect really stood out as soon as I walked in. (o ゜▽゜) o ☆

#Waiting

 

 

 

I always have this feeling that during lunchtime, every establishment around Gwanghwamun must have a waiting list, haha-

 

Whenever I come to D Tower, waiting is pretty much a given, but here, it seemed like we waited longer than usual compared to other places.

 

As soon as we arrived, we put our names down for the waiting list, Then you have to choosing the menu while looking at the menu. :)

 

My friends and I waited for about 15-20 minutes before we were seated! (Approximately 8 groups ahead of us).

huwahuwa, don't you wonder what it means?

 

 

I looked it up because I was curious, and 'ふわふわ' means 'fluffy' lol (cute)

Lightly floating or moving: round, round, round..

#Hot pot rice

 

 

The Fuwafuwa cat character popping up everywhere, even making the basic settings cute, haha.

 

 

They prepared the food surprisingly quickly, contrary to the expected waiting time.

 

 

 

This menu is the Hihiki scallops, Hot Pot rice that I ordered.

 

 

The dish includes rice, well-prepared scallops, hihiki, chestnuts, and as a special touch, a piece of butter on top.

 

Personally, even though the butter was small, it added to the overall taste, smoothly enhancing the flavors and leaving a delightful aroma lingering in the nose.

At first, it was alright, but since I'm not particularly fond of seafood to begin with, as I eat more and more..

 

The distinct fishy smell made me feel a bit... uncomfortable, haha.

 

I really like hihiki, but I eat clams a little. (more like meat)

 

Personally, I felt a strong fishy smell towards the end (others may not feel the same way), which made it a bit challenging for me to enjoy .. (*゜ー゜*)

 

 

 

Choosing a menu that didn't suit my taste was definitely my mistake.

 

but anyway, personally, I can't say "I enjoyed it!"...

 

I guess this part is a bit subjective, so it's hard to definitively label it as anything specific...

 

 

This menu is the Miso pork neck, Hot Pot rice that my friends ordered.

I had a spoonful of my friends' menu and it was really good

and the salad was so delicious, and each menu came with seaweed, so it was good to eat without being bored.

 

 

And the most important point...!

Actually, there was one thing that I was so embarrassed about, but this pot rice restaurant didn't give me a hot water kettle for making nurungji..?

I was so cold and hungry that day, so I struggled to eat all the nurungji.

(because, t's hard because the rice sticks to the pot)

Oh, it's worth scratching the nurungji. (reversal)

I thought it was worth working on.

 

 

 

and That soy sauce is a magic sauce!

It was delicious when I dip it in other ingredients. (The rice in the pot is really samsam, so I can't eat it without dipping it)

It's crispy and moist. I'm really satisfied with it.

 

 

 

I ate it very well, right?

Good Points : )

1. Clean interior and cute character: The charming cat and Japanese-themed design really catch the eye (￣︶￣)↗
2. Overall mild flavors that are suitable for elders and especially children!
3. Despite the crowd, the food was prepared quickly.
4. Neat food setting and delicious soy sauce!

 

Room for Improvement : (

1. Despite being a hot pot restaurant, there was no warm water pitcher for soaking the crispy rice.
2. While Gwanghwamun area is known for its high cost of living, the food seemed a bit lacking in quantity compared to the price. The quality of the ingredients and taste weren't bad, but the toppings felt insufficient compared to the amount of rice.
